Poppin' and Lockin'
I saw a dancer on TV a few weeks ago, auditioning for a talent show. He was poppin', a style of dance I've seen before. But something was special about the way he moved. It was like liquid. He floated across the floor as if it was made of ice. I could see him moving but I had no idea how he was doing it.
I had to learn. I've never been good at singing, but I've always been able to move. I've spent hours watching YouTube video of dancers, hypnotized.
I broke down and registered for classes today at a dance school near my house. I used to pass by and wonder what it was like inside.
It's smaller than I imagined, and the walls are full-length mirrors. My heart raced as I looked at my reflection and imagined learning to move like water.

Monday, July. Sunny
Stair Fun
Today, like every day, Sungjin, Byeonchae, and I played rock, paper, scissors. Byeongchae lost, which meant that today he was riding the stairs.
I grabbed his feet. He fell on his butt, and Sungjin held onto his feet and dragged him all the way down the stairs it actually doesn't hurt as bad as you'd expect. You remember it when you sit down the next day, though. After his ride to the bottom of  the stairs, Byeonchae stood up, rubbing his butt. He was ready for another round.

We played again, and he lost again. His face fell. You could tell that he really felt it after his second ride, but he wasn't done yet. We played again, and I lost. They were about to grab me when the bell rang and I ran off, cackling. There's something about this game that makes us play it every day. There's nothing to win, but it's still fun.
